"A person who works
with his hands is a laborer. A person who works with his hands and his mind is a craftsman. But a person who works with his hands, mind and his heart is an artist." - Louis Nizer |

This is where it all started. My
first attempt at a portrait when I was 2 1/2 yrs old. Then when I
was 4yrs old I got really daring and drew my first group portrait in
color! Not bad, huh? Since then I have always had something in my
hand to draw with. I used to practice drawing anything and
everything, from wall hangings to holiday greeting cards, to comic
strips in the Sunday newspapers. I graduated college with a BS in
Business Marketing and tried to squeeze in as many art classes as I
could. The only formal art training I had was when I attended the
Connecticut Institute of Art for one year. My first lesson was to
draw without an eraser and to 'celebrate my mistakes'. One of my
most influential instructors, Mr. D. Wright, passed along his many
'words of wisdom' which included; "Don't waste time learning the
tricks of the trade, instead learn the trade." |
